"Indulgence plus! Everything about our Dark Sky Cottage experience felt like pure indulgence. A much needed break from the hamster wheel of life, we stepped off for a week at Dark Sky Cottage, but I could have stayed forever. EVERYTHING in and around this gorgeous space has been thoughtfully planned and provided to ensure you have the most amazing experience. I loved waking up to the stunning landscape outside and saying hello to the lovely cows on the hilliside as I poured my tea and indulged in some local delicacies for breakfast. The cottage is lovingly adorned with intriguing books that encourage you to sit and relax. Every time I gazed around a room, my eye would spy a new mystery to inspect, each object with its own story or quirky relevance, teaching me something new. It goes without saying, the night sky in the Martinborough region is spectacular but having the option to take in the enormity of the stars from the outside bath, the hammock, or deck chairs was a perfect touch. There is so much to explore in the region with wineries and the like but Dark Sky Cottage was my favourite part of the trip. The hosts have really captured the perfect retreat for just about anybody to enjoy. Simply luxurious, homely, and dreamy all at the same time. If history is your thing - there's an abundance of local, traditional stories to be discovered throughout the cottage. If board games or movies are more your style, there's a cosy media room with a cute popcorn maker (and kernels provided) to keep you occupied for hours. I'm already planning our next stay as I am completely in love with everything about Dark Sky Cottage...it's the perfect weekend away for those close by, and it's a great excuse to linger a little longer when you are coming from Australia. "A charming, picturesque cottage close to Martinborough but far enough away to feel remote. The cottage is designed for comfort, with a luxurious bed, cozy furnishings, excellent shower, and high-end amenities. We really enjoyed the personal touches included with breakfast - farmhouse bread, honey from the owner's hives, and local preserves. And while the wifi is excellent, there's a variety of games provided, a movie room complete with a selection of movies, a giant screen and popcorn, AND an outdoor bathtub from which you can gaze at the stars. We only had one night there, but can't wait to return for an entire weekend so we can spend more time enjoying the cottage itself." - Dawn and Darren
